Album cover template and decisions

This is the template digipak we hope to use to create our album cover.

This is our album cover template with mesurments - an example of what we hope to create.

In order to create our album cover we looked at exsisting albums, took them apart, traced and measured the dimensions and scanned it onto the computer. From here we was able to look at the features we will have to include on our album. These consisted of:

  • Band name.

  • Front and back photo.

  • Copyright law writing - Thank you for buying this music and supporting the artist, songwriters, musicians and others who’ve created it and made it possible. Please remember that this recording and artwork are protected by copyright law. Since you don't own the copyright, it is not yours to distribute. Please don’t use internet services that promote illegal distribution of copyrighted music, give away illegal copies of discs to others or lend discs to others for copying. It’s hurting the artists who created the music. It has the same effect as stealing a disc from a store without paying for it. Applicable laws provide severe civil and criminal penalties for the unauthorised reproduction, distribution and digital transmission of copyrighted sound recordings

To be kept up to date with releases from Scarlet Avenue go to: www.scarletavenue.co.uk.
  • Barcode.

  • Song lyrics.

  • The Bind down the side including album and band name, the album number, sortcode and record label

We incuded all of this apart from the album name as we feel that the band name should be the album name, as people will recognise this. The lyrics are songs that the band has written or covered so far.

Here is the front view of the cover:

We have decided to use this chosen photo for the front cover as it is dramatised, sophisticated and fun- showing the nature of the members of the band, both individually and together through the use of style and colour of clothing. This represents personality and the genre of music- pop, with dramatic lyrics but sophisicated structure.

This is the back view of our album cover:

We have decided to use this chosen picture for the back cover to go with the front cover picture continuing the theme of both the band and genre. It also portrays the fun side of the members as well as the professional side, which an audience like to see when it comes to music as they can relate to it.
