We have chosen to create a promotion package for the release of a new album which will include a music promo video accompanied by a website homepage for the band and a cover for its release as part of a digipack. We come to this decision as Lucy-Jay is part of a four piece ensemble and we feel that this will enable us to fulfil the brief to its full potential.
As a team, we have come up with various ideas about how we are going to achieve the task. These consist of the following:
- Researching the history of music videos and institutions
- Analysing exisiting music videos, Website homepage and album cover- codes and conventions. (MIGRAIN model) for different types of bands and genres.
- Creating a questionnaire for our target audience about music videos to help us make a successful decision.
- Deciding on the genre of the song in order for it to be original material.
- Deciding on our chosen set and location for photographs for both the website and album cover.
- Story boarding, drafts and layouts
- Designing band name and why
- Final chosen photographs- summary on why they were used for the video, album cover and web page.
- Mood board of all original photos and why they were used.
- Questioning our audience and implications for the video, album cover and webpage.
- Creating actual website homepage and album cover.
- Deciding on set, location and characters to create the music promo video itself and then creating it.
- Textual analysis of our own music video, album cover and webpage.
- Evaluation

Good so far - remember to consider the institutions who would be involved in the promotion of a new band and other ways they would be promoted such as adverts, radio interviews, etc
