After my first attempt at designing my own front cover, contents page and double page spread for my magazine; I asked my target audience for their opinions so i could gather some audience feedback on how to improve my product.
I asked what they thought of the colour scheme, the images used, the layout and whether it would be something they would be encouraged to buy in the shops. The results showed that there were some improvements for me to make in order for my magazine to be a success.
With some of my images I was recommended to edit them. For example, erasing the background of the main image on my front cover so that I just had the model's figure on display, enlarging and decreasing particular images on my double page spread and making sure red eye was avoided on all the images throughout. The layout on my front cover and contents seemed to be popular, however the layout of my double page spread had to undergo some changes- The text on the right hand side of the page had to be shifted over a good few centimetres so that there would be enough room for the margin down the centre when actually printed. The colour scheme seemed to be successful therefore that was not something which needed to be altered, although I just had to make sure it was consistent throughout the whole magazine to develop that wanted house style.
After these changes were made, I went back and asked my audience for their opinions for a second time and the improvements seemed to pay off. I was much more satisfied with the response and I become more confident in the fact that my magazine would be a great hit if put on the market.
